About Trip -

Cholatse Peak (6440m) stunning peak with narrow snow ice ridges and steep faces. The Cholatse ridge separating the Gokyo and Khumbu valleys, just north of Taboche and just south  of Cho La pass (5420m ) used by Sherpa and trekkers frequently  to go between the Gokyo and Khumbu valleys.

Cholatse Peak Climbingis the most technical climbing peak in Everest Region which looks like an unreachable fort from the North face, but Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition arrange the normal route, the Southwest ridge. The mountain is very easy to reach from the Khumbu valley with only a few days trekking from Lukla.  You will start to climb Cholatse peak with acclimatize trek to Gokyo and Cho La pass. That Mean you can gain strength to climb this beautiful mountain which hasn’t had that many summits since climbing permits was started to issue since 2002. Cholatse was first climbed in 1982 from the normal route and in 1984 from the much harder north face.

Cholatse Peak belongs to the group “A” Trekking Peaks of Nepal Mountaineering Association, NMA.  It is a tougher and more technicalmountain peak to climb in Everest region. Most climbers normally climb from the Southwest ridge which is seen as the route with the best chance to summit. Cholatse (6500m) Peak climbing has bigger challenge than climbing Island peak and Mera Peak. The previous alpine experience will be beneficial and helpful to climb Cholatse peak.

A good sound physical and mental health is necessary, be prepared to walk 4-6 hours, even longer for some trekking days. Prepare for quick and dramatic changes in the weather. There will be cold nights and snowy, windy days. On lower altitude our days can be hot. Because of those factors it is important to make sure that you have packed enough warm trekking and climbing gear.
