Pink Mountain Treks and Expeditions offer Manaslu Circuit Trek for those who are willing to make a trek to the Manaslu region. Manaslu Circuit Trek is still less exposed in comparison to other tourist areas, with relatively virgin and less beaten paths in comparison to the more popular regions.

The trek to Manaslu Circuit takes you into the majestic surroundings of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Boudha Himal ranges. In the initial days of the trek, you explore the Budhi Gandaki Valley through a mix of dense forest, terraced fields and hill villages. While on the trek, you also pass through the alpine forests, glacial rivers, and enjoy the warm hospitality of ethnic people. you also visit the ancient Buddhist Gombas of the region.

Manaslu Circuit Trek is an emerging teahouse trekking adventure in Nepal that goes to the base camp of eighth highest peak in the world Manaslu 8163m. The trekking adventure that caters moderate challenges of trek begins from Arughat, a small town in Gorkha District- northwest of Kathmandu. Manaslu Circuit Trek caters trekkers the views of pristine nature, encounters them with the uniquely rich culture and offers them the adventure with sum of the best trekking trails in Nepal.

This challenging trek takes you as high as Larkya-La Pass 5271m. Beginning the trek from Arughat, it goes gradually up to Sama Goan crossing many suspension bridges over Budhi Gandaki River that emerges from Manaslu Glacier. Sama goan is final big settlement of Manaslu Region before crossing the Larkya La pass. For acclimatization, a couple rest days in Samagoan allows us to visit old Sama monastery, which is one of the most popular monasteries of the region among many other sprinkled ones. The trekkers explore incredible Birendra Glacier and Mansalu Base Camp from Sama Gaon. Beyond Samagaon, on the way to Larkya La Pass, we cross pass Samdo- a small traditional village of the region. After crossing Larkya la pass, we walk down via Grand Canyon to Bhimtang and to connect Annapurna circuit trail from Dharapani onwards. Now we will walk along the Marshyangdi Valley and arrive to Besisahar to end this adventurous trek in Manaslu Region.

Every effort will be made to keep to the above Manaslu Circuit Trekking  itinerary.However, since this adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, you cannot guarantee that you will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The Trekking  leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required. 

Detail Itinerary

Day 1Arrive Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel - 1,300m/4,264 ft Arrival in the Kathmandu airport (TIA)snd meet with representative of Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition (PMTE). Then transferred to hotel. After checking in, you will visit Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition's office to meet with trekking leader as well as other participants and make final preparations for the trip.

Day 2Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation After breakfast proceed to guided tour with Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition to the heritage sites of Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered as World Heritage Sites; including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddhanath) which is one of the large Stupas in the world. In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where you can meet our trek leader and other team members. Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition briefs you regarding our trek as well as provides you opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding our upcoming adventure.

Day 3Drive to Aarughat After Breakfast Drive to Arughat Bazaar - the getaway to Manaslu circuit and Tsum valley trekking, 80km paved road drive than 30km off road and dusty trail takes 5 to 6 hours drive. Explore local market in Arughat area and stay in lodge with meal.

Day 4Trek to Lapubashi villageTrek to Lapubashi village along the Budi Gandaki river bank, hike from paddy fields, cross local villages, small markets like Arkhet, Soti Khola and Liding. Trek about 5 to 6 hours. Stay at local family owned simple guest house with private room and common toilet and shower.with meal.

Day 5Trekking to Dovan village Trekking to Dovan village via Famous Gurung and Magar villages Machha Khola, Khorla Basi, Nauli village and Hot spring. Cross many exciting suspension bridges, Mules caravan, walk on the Budi Gandai river bank beach, passing beautiful waterfalls and take short time in Natural Hot spring for face wash. Dovan is small Gurung/Magar village just along the River Bank with small Public school. Offer only basic guest house with sharing toilet and shower. Dinner and Breakfast service.

Day 6A short trek to Jagat Geteway to Manaslu and Tsum Valley and Entry point of Manaslu Conservation Area and Non touristic zone. A short hike you will reach the Thado dhunga where we can drink hot tee. After short climb we reach a wide and flat area is called Yaru Phanta. Probably it is one of the best place to see the rocky and flat river sounds with frozen water. After short hike you will reach Jagat village. Is was a Custom office for Upper Manaslu section from Tibet. A police check post for Manaslu Circuit trek Permit. Small Village well prepared stone steps trail before and after village. Stay at family guest house with common toilet and nice food.

Day 7Jagat to Philim (1,590m/ 5215 ft): 3hrs Today you will Climb over a rocky ridge to Salleri, and then descend to Setibas. The valley widens a bit as the trail continues up to Ghatta Khola. Continue upstream to a long suspension bridge. Climb up to Philim, a large Gurung village.

Day 8Trek to DyangChanging Vegetation again walk along the rocky trail, cross beautiful waterfalls and green masala forest on narrow river valley. Takes about 5 to 6 hours. After 1 hour hike you will reach Ekale Bhatti a small village offer tee and short rest. The fantasy rocky trail sometime you will get afraid to. Dont worry, we have experience guide and support team. Can enjoy with the natural water fall. Just before the bridge there are 2 trail 1 goes to Tsum Valley. We let that trail and keep continue follow the classic trade route trail to Dyang. This 3 hours walk along the dense pine and Masala mixed forest with crossing many suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River. You will reach middle of jungle Pewa Small Guest house offer great lunch run by local people. Than continue 1 hour trek you reach Dyang village. A windy village stay on family guest house with private room service.

Day 9Trekking to GapA great challenge hike into the Nature wonders. Compare other day we walk more hours. Trek up down, forest and dry sunny trail. After 3 hours mostly uphill trail you reach Bhe Phadi where we take our lunch. After that continue trek to Gaph another 3 hours. Before Gap you will see the best Buddhist stuppas and stone prayer walls with colorful Tibetan letter. Walk along the village and green valley you will reach guest house. A simple guest house run by Ex- trekking guide offer best good and service.
Day hike to Prok Village and side trip to Kala Tal also suggested if you want and have extra spare day. To visit the Prok village you can go by our experience guide. A nice farmer village with flat farming land, few home stay guest houses and a community guest house run by Japanese charity. On the top of Village a Great Monastery offer all the village and valley view. All the trail you walk along the stone walls and stone carving Buddhist prayer mane wall. Most of Gurung and Thakuri community speak Tibetan language. Small primary school with 2 teachers. Offer Tibetan Butter tee on Monastery. Beware from local Dogs!! sometime when they see different face barking lot.
After the village you may walk up to Kala Tal - Lake that takes about 3 hours climb up and 3 hours walk down with the permission of Local Community with hiring local Guide for safety reason. Local Guide can be order by Prok village community club with the paying of 15US$ per guide. The lake is beautiful and look black. That reason they say Kala. Located on the high after the green line in wild. Very less tourist and people visit this lake on Manaslu Circuit Trek beside of local Nubri Valley people. On the trail you will have great view of Siringi Himal, Ganesh Himal and more mountain range. Beware form dark! this is the are they found many Black beers and always dangerous at late evening to the village and villagers farming land.

Day 10Trek to Lho Enter the Nubri Valley, is a great challenge and climb many altitude in a day before crossing larkya la pass. Experience a alpine forest walk over 2500m. Great view of M. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Mountain Monkeys welcoming you from the jungle, rhododendron forest and flower if you trek on March and April. Short tee break in Namrung you can have WIFI asses. Visit small Buddhist Monastery and Manaslu Trek permit controlled by Nepal Police. After 1.5 hour uphill we reach Lee village where we stop for Lunch. A Village with Apple garden and Community Hospital. Visit mountain hospital than keep continue trek to Lho. It mean highest place in Tibetan Language. A big village in Numri Valley. Stay at comfortable guest house.

Day 11Lho to Samagoan trek Morning Visit the Lho Monastery and Buddhist Monks School, a short day hike to Samagoan via Syala village. The trek allows you to acclimatize and enjoy the spectacular mountain sceneries, walk through alpine rhododendron forest before entering the Samagaon village. You will walk along the paddy fields just before Sama and passing many spiritual devotes Buddhist Mani walls, Stuppas and Chorten. In Sama Village you will welcoming by Great Buddhist entrance gate to enter the village. From village it offer a great view of Mt. Manaslu North Face and other mountain range. Afternoon We can Visit the Sama Monastery which is one of the famous on Manaslu Trek.

Day 12Rest day at Samagoan village exploration village, Birendra lake manaslu glacier view and manaslu base camp back to camp or Hike to Pungyan Gompa.
A rest day at Samagoan - In sama there are many option for you for sight exploration. Our guide give you detail information and decide where to go and the best. Depend on whether condition, A side trip to the spectacular Manaslu Base Camp up to 4900m. is not to be missed. Leave early morning form guest house, we follow the yak harder trail and steep ascent into a slop and into a moraine you will reach the Manaslu Base Camp. From there, you will have magnificent view of the Manaslu Glacier, turquoiseBirendra Lake great view of Sama Gaon, awe-inspiring mountains form 360 angels and the long horizon valley with Siringi Himal and Ganesh Himal range.
Another alternative option beside of the manaslu base camp and birendra lake, a short hike to Pungyan Gompa and the glacial lake through rhododendron forest and yak kharka. You will walk from the ridge of Pungyan Glacier and a grassy plateau. Discover the Pungyan Gompa at the end of corner and bottom of Mt. Manaslu that was destroyed by avalanche during the winter. Still a small monastery were there and open only seasonable. From there you will get even more close with the glacier and can see many yaks along the trial.

Day 13Trek from Sama to Samdo (3860m/12,660 ft): 4/5 hrs Descend to the Budi Gandaki, that has turned north, and follow it to a bridge over a side stream. The trail to the left leads to the Manaslu Base camp. The Larkya la Trail passes several mani walls as the valley begins to widen. It is an easy trail on a shelf above the river passing the juniper and birch forests of Kermo Kharka. you drop off the shelf, cross the Budhi Gandaki on a wooden bridge and climb steeply onto a promontory between two forks of the river. From a stone arch you can see a large white kani, finally passing through the kani you find Samdo.

Day 14Samdo - High Camp (Ekle Bhatti) (4460m/14,628fy): 5hrs You will continue your walk down the edge with guide of Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition, cross the wooden bridge over Budi Gandaki and begin walking upward. Cross two streams and witness the Larkya Glacier. Go around the valley of the Salka Khola and climb up again and come to the stone guest house (4450 m) which is not a lodge but a kind of shelter called Dharmshala, also known as Larkya Phedi. you camp here today and have a rest to prepare for tomorrow's crossing of the famous and most awaited Larkya Pass. After a short climb, you reach the ablation valley on the North side of the Larkya Glaciers.

Day 15High Camp – Bimthang (3,590m/11811ft), 7/ 8 hours walking After an early start, you soon walk across the moraines of the glacier, making a gradual ascent which becomes steeper only in the last section to the pass. From the pass, there are outstanding views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and the huge Annapurna II. Savor the spectacular views from the top of the pass. It is a longer day then usual to Bimtang, but to walk into these low pastures with the evening mist coming in and Manaslu; it's an experience not to be missed.

Day 16Rest day at Bimthang you have been trekking incessantly for more than 2 youeks. Still one more week to trek in the mountains. Therefore, a rest day would prove a blessing for the tired muscles. Also discover the area surrounding Bimthang as well the cultural life of the mountain people.

Day 17Trek Bimthang to Dharapani(1860m/6,100ft): 6-7 hrs you will descend a great height today. Initially, from the valley of Burdin Khola, through rhododendron forests, to Karche, the highest cultivating place in the valley. Then you descend to the village of Gho. While staying on the north bank of the river, you trek into Tilje. Leave the Tilje Village, and cross the Dudh Khola. Cross a wooden bridge back to the northern side of the Dudh Khola. Continue to Dharapani.

Day 18Dharapani - Ghermu (1100m/3608ft): 7 hrs The remainder of our trek follows trails used on the first few days of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. you descend to the Marsyandi River and cross the suspension bridge. Climb up and away from the river and hike through a broad, flat valley to the village of Tal (1,675m), situated at the foot of a large waterfall. The trail continues on to Chyamje. From Chyamje, trekking up and down along the river, you reach Jagat. A steep trail descends from Jagat through the Marshyangdi valley. Cross Marshyangdi River at Syange and walk to Ghermu.

Day 19Ghermu - Besisahar (800m/2625 ft): 4 hrs The Marsyandi valley opens and on its banks terrace fields and villages clung very high to the hillsides are the age-old work of the Nepalese farmers. you cross several interesting villages such as Bhulbhule, Khudi, etc. Then you walk on a flat part alongside the left bank of the Marsyandi. A last walk up for reaching Besi Sahar, a dusty and busy place which marks the end of our trek and the beginning of the civilization.

Day 20Drive Besi Sahar to Kathmandu by bus: 7/8 hrs A 7 to 8 hours' of picturesque drive on the way back to Kathmandu along the banks of the Marsyangdi and Trishuli rivers with splendid views of green hills, mountains, farming terraces and villages on both sides of road. In Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day resting or catching up on some last minute shopping. To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, you will have a farewell dinner by Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition.

Day 21Fly Out to your destination. Your adventure in Nepal and Manaslu Circuit Trek comes to an end today.If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. A representative from Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight.
