About Trip -

Mera Peak (6476m) climbing is considered the highest trekking peak climbing in Nepal. The Mera peak lies in the heart of the Himalayan giants of Nepal called Everest Region and is considered the highest trekking peak in Nepal. Mera Peak climbing holidays with Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition offers an opportunity to climb this fun and easier peak located in a more remote area of the Khumbu region in Nepal a relatively short amount of time. Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak in Nepal. The view from the summit is one of the finest in the Himalaya with five 8000m peaks visible: Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu and Kanchenjunga.

Mera peak climbing holidays is suitable for a climber trekking and climbing to the Himalayas for the first time or keen hill walkers with some previous experience of using crampons and ice axe. A very fit and active winter-walker-climber with good health can join Mera peaking climbing. Outline Itinerary -

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu International airport and meet with representative of Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition, then transfer to hotel.

Day 02:Kathmandu (1350m) sightseeing tour

Day 03:Fly to Lukla (2860m)

Day 04:Trek from Lukla to Chutanga (3474m)

Day 05:Trek to Thuli kharka (4320m) via Chetra La pass (4600m)

Day 06:Walk to Kothey (3500m)

Day 07:Trek to Tangna 94300m)

Day 08:Walk to Khare (5000m) and organize equipment

Day 09:A day for acclimatization.

Day 10:Trek to Mera Peak Base Camp (5415m)

Day 11:Climb to High Camp (5768m)

Day 12:Summit Mera Peak (6476m) and descend back to Khare

Day 13:Extra day for summit attempt and packing up, resting

Detail Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu International airport and meet with representative of Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition, then transfer to hotel.

Day 2Kathmandu (1350m) sightseeing tourAfter breakfast, proceed to sightseeing tour to heritage sites of Kathmandu. Visit to Boudhanath stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu durbar square tour.

Day 3Fly to Lukla (2860m)An early start for the dramatic flight through the mountains to Lukla (2840m). We spend the remainder of the day resting and acclimatizing. We overnight in a basic lodge.

Day 4Trek from Lukla to Chutanga (3474m)A short and easy day of trekking off the beaten track, up through thinning forest to the grazing area of Chutanga (3050m).

Day 5Trek to Thuli kharka (4320m) via Chetra La pass (4600m)A long day mostly uphill to cross the Kshetra La (4600m) and descend to Tuli Kharka a high pasture above the Hinku valley.

Day 6Walk to Kothey (3500m) We follow a delightful descending trail across three ridges, before dropping steeply down to the Hinku River and a final uphill to Kothey (3600m).

Day 7Trek to Tangna 94300m) Following the west side of the Hinku River, we trek via the Yak herders summer settlement of Gondishung and its Buddhist shrine to Tagnag (4350m).

Day 8Walk to Khare (5000m) and organize equipment We ascend an ablation valley beside the Dig Glacier to Khare, the basecamp area for Mera Peak.

Day 9A day for acclimatization. We will have a skills training session and get ready for our ascent of Mera Peak.

Day 10Trek to Mera Peak Base Camp (5415m) Trek across the Mera La (5300 m) to Mera Peak base camp at 5100. Leaving our base camp we trek up onto the glacier and traverse to the Mera La on the watershed of the Hinku and Hongu valleys.

Day 11Climb to High Camp (5768m) We continue our ascent of the North flank of Mera Peak to a spectacular nestled below a rocky outcropping on the ridge.

Day 12Summit Mera Peak (6476m) and descend back to Khare We make the technically straightforward ascent of Mera Peak (6476m). The summit view includes 5 of the World 6 highest mountains. We return to Khare.

Day 13Extra day for summit attempt and packing up, resting An extra day reserves, in case of bad weather or delay. We may use this day to split the following day trekking into two shorter days, descending first to Tagnag.

Day 14Trek to Kothey (Tashi Ongma) We begin our return trek following the Hinku River to Gotay.

Day 15Trek to Thuli Kharka Uphill again to reach Tuli Kharka below the Ksetra La.

Day 16Trek to Lukla A final short climb to the Zatrwa La and then a long descent to Lukla. Overnight in a basic lodge.

Day 17Fly to KathmanduWe will have plenty of time after lunch for further sightseeing or shopping.
