The Helambu trek begins at Sundarijal, where one can reach from Kathmandu by road in one hour. The trekkers will be first viewing the Shivapuri National Park. From there trekking trail passes through Chisopani, Gulbhanjyang, Kutumsang, Thadepati and Sermathang. Melamchi Pul Bazaar is the last point of Helambu trek. Major part of this trek is in the dense Himalayan forests and the trekkers enjoy the spectacular mountain views. The amazing Buddhist monasteries and the picturesque rice terraces are the other attractions of this trek. The Helambu trekking normally takes 7- 8 days; trekkers stay in lodges or tea-houses during night. Helambu trek is popular among the trekkers for its scenery, wide variety of cultures and favorable climate.

During Helambu trekking period travelers can see the verity of flora and fauna in Shivapuri National park. The trekkers enjoy the beauty of the alpine meadows and accept the hospitality of the Sherpa and Tamang people.
